Business Insider recently named Da Nang "Southeast Asia's fastest-growing digital nomad hot spot." With studios starting at $250/month and a coastline that rivals anywhere in the region, the city is pulling remote workers from Bali, Chiang Mai, and Bangkok. But Da Nang is not one neighborhood. Each district has a different vibe, price point, and trade-off.
An Thuong (My An Beach Area)
Best for: Social nomads, cafe hoppers, beach access
Typical rent: 7-12 million VND ($280-480/month) for a 1BR
Walk to beach: 5-10 minutes
An Thuong is the default landing zone for most nomads. Dense with cafes, coworking spaces, Western restaurants, and rooftop bars. The energy means you will meet people fast. Downside: rents have climbed 15-20% in the past year, and some blocks feel more like a tourist strip than a neighborhood.
Son Tra District
Best for: Nature lovers, runners, quieter lifestyle
Typical rent: 5-9 million VND ($200-360/month) for a 1BR
Proximity: 10-15 minutes to My Khe Beach by motorbike
Son Tra wraps around the peninsula with the Marble Mountains to the south and Son Tra Mountain (Monkey Mountain) to the north. Less developed, fewer cafes, but significantly cheaper. If you want a furnished apartment with a pool for under $300/month, Son Tra is where you find it. The trade-off is you will need a motorbike.
Hai Chau (City Center)
Best for: Urban convenience, local food, business meetings
Typical rent: 6-10 million VND ($240-400/month) for a 1BR
Walk to: Dragon Bridge, Han Market, hospitals, banks
Hai Chau is the downtown core. Best infrastructure, widest selection of local restaurants, closest to government offices and hospitals. Not beachy, but practical. The Dragon Bridge and Han River promenade give it character. Good option if you are doing business locally or want a more "real Vietnam" experience.
Ngu Hanh Son
Best for: Families, longer stays, value for space
Typical rent: 5-8 million VND ($200-320/month) for a 1BR
Proximity: Between An Thuong and Hoi An
South of An Thuong, Ngu Hanh Son is quieter and more residential. Larger apartments for less money. Close to the Marble Mountains and a growing number of international schools. If you are staying 3+ months and want space over nightlife, this is the play.
Lien Chieu
Best for: Budget, university area, long-term stays
Typical rent: 3-6 million VND ($120-240/month) for a 1BR
The most affordable district. Home to Da Nang University and a growing industrial zone. Very few nomads here, which means very few English menus. But if your budget is tight and you speak some Vietnamese (or want to learn), Lien Chieu offers the lowest rents in the city.

Quick Comparison
| Neighborhood | Monthly Rent (1BR) | Vibe | Best For |

Da Nang is still one of the best value propositions in Southeast Asia for remote workers. The window is open, but rents are climbing. Lock in a 6-month lease if you find something good.
